Hilary Weinstein, LCSW
About Hilary
Throughout my practice, what has motivated me the most is my understanding of how we default to certain emotions and behavioral patterns in response to life's stresses and transitions. These patterns of behavior can affect sense of self-esteem, friendships, romantic relationships, and career. I provide you with a safe and comfortable atmosphere where we can explore the circumstances and emotions you are struggling with. I assist you in identifying triggers and recognizing your own strengths, which can be harnessed to reframe your perceptions, regulate your emotions, modify behavior, develop coping tools, and empower you to regain control of your life.
My Approach
In my practice, I utilize an integrative approach, incorporating attachment theory, psychodynamic, strengths-based and solution-focused approaches, as well as more structured cognitive behavioral, and dialectic behavioral approaches. Together, we develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs.
My Experience
I received my BA in Psychology from Bucknell University, my MSW from Fordham Graduate School of Social Service, and my New York State Licensure. I have experience providing therapy to adults, adolescents, and couples in a variety of settings, including two private group practices, Montefiore Medical Center's Outpatient Behavioral Health Center, Bellevue’s Child-Adolescent Psychiatric Emergency Room, and as a high school therapist.
